stock in preview not being displayed properly?

I am having an issue where my previewed toolpath doesn't match the simulation. If I click on the toolpath it displays the preview as if it were cut with a different tool. If I run the actual simulation it appears to be correct. I don't want to risk ruining a pallet. Any ideas what the issue may be? Any help is greatly appreciated. The tool is a 1/16 flat endmill.

here is the preview generated just by clicking on the toolpath:

Here is what the actual simulation shows:

I did watch the whole simulation and it appears to be doing what I expected. Not sure why the discrepancy? I have never had this issue before but I am a pretty new user. Hopefully its something simple.

Please attach your model as it really helps troubleshoot your issue.  If you do not know how to attach your model, open it in Fusion360, select the File menu and then choose Export and save the .F3D file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a reply forum post to attach it.

Done, thanks.

I was hopiong it was an obvious issue...

Are the expoted files in any way linked? I dont want any changes made to an exported file to affect my actual file.

I do not know what is causing this issue or if it is indication of a problem in the toolpath and the actual cutting path.  @seth.madore I hope you can speak to this issue.

As to your worry of your exported model being linked to your original, rest easy, it is not.  The only way a linked model could upset your original is if you take one and "replace" your original.  I added Seth to my post because he is an Autodesk guru on the Manufacturing Extension.  I hope he can chime in and put your mind to rest.  Sorry I cannot not help.

No worries,

Thanks for taking a look.

It looks like the stock is being generated as if the cut is being made with a tipped off chamfer or something. I would imagine the G code is exported based on the toolpaths but These pallets are pricy so I don't want to chance it if I can help it. I have made other pockets in the same file without issue.

Thanks @jhackney1972 for tagging me.

This appears to be a bug in the In Process Stock. I would trust the actual Simulation of these toolpaths and go by that instead. I'll log this tomorrow as a defect in the IPS

If you're going to run this in the next month or so, you'll be ahead of the fix, for sure.

I've opened up CAM-26565 to track this issue.

For what it's worth, I think this is the first time I've seen such a discrepancy between IPS and CAM Simulation

I ran the part and it followed the simulation as expected. Looking forward to a solution to correct the discrepancy. If I can provide any additional info please let me know.
