Stitch not working, why?

I created two surfaces using separate Lofts (same one wouldn't work.) I'd like to stitch them together at the slanted yellow circle you see in the image, but even with my tolerance cranked up, the two edges there are still coming up as free edges. Why is this?

Attach you model to a reply post so the Forum users can take a look.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

Do your surfaces form an unambiguous "watertight" volume, or do you have big holes or ambiguity?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
(I am surprised that you didn't think of that.)

Thanks for the suggestions. I instead explored a new design workflow that prevented the issue.
