hi

as title reads I split this part below into two but now they appear together under component 4 together as body 1 but when we look at the model it is clear that they are two split parts but this problem prevents me from saving them separately as .stl. what can I do?

There is no history for Component 4.  There are 3 bodies, the track, and the two tabs at right hand end of body 1.

The rest of the model timeline, is not so clean.

i have another problem now. I want to get rid of this shape left from the previous connections but now acting as if they are together. can somebody teach me and show how to this area I circled ? I want there be plain surface. I have to remake a tab for it. it acts as body 4 under component 4. but it was a separate body tab before. lets just make it combine with the whole body

Not at all!
Please note that this is a new topic. In the beginning, the components were accidentally not separated.
Now it is about uniting separated parts in a new way*.

That is a good thing.
This way, specific questions get more attention and are easier to find later.
