measruing the hole centre to the top line of beam get me 81.577 wrong dimension .

Picking from the vertex at end of beam gets me a DELTA Z= 70 mm the right dimension .

the beam is straight so you think the would be should be the same .

I can not see me doing some wrong here it a bit of a problem.

If the top was not straight it would give you a delta z dimension or angle.

what dimension do i trust??

Measure to face, not edge.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Without seeing the file, its difficult to know. What are your selection filters set as ? If you have "Select Through" set, then it could actually be picking the vertex below the X which is making the value longer. Are you able to supply the model data as suggested for us to check ?

I have the selection set to all will pick though object on.

And yes if you pick the top surface you get the right dimension the edges should be the same?

Attach file here and I can demonstrate why the measurements are different.
