Fusion 360 is even more unstable than usual after the may update on both Mac and Windows - this means missed deadlines and a huge amount of frustration - Can Autodesk give a path out of this mess please?

  • Fusion is running very slow
  • When running the "get latest" 4 crashes so far, time taken is much longer than pre May update
  • Drawings are taking a very long time to open (one took 15 minutes)
  • 6 crashes when opening drawing files so far today (gave up at lunch time and worked on ACAD)
  • Two models when opened give warnings and components have moved
  • The fan on my computer is on all the time when Fusion is open, it was not like this before the last update

I will keep adding if anything else happens. My colleagues using the Windows version are experiencing similar problems

Thanks so much for the details! Did you send out the crash reports after Fusion crashes? If yes, please help to provide the mail address for crash reports and we can give a quick investigation. If possible, can you help to provide the drawing file and other problematic models for further investigation. In addition, appreciated if you can provide the diagnostics log files that will help us to do the investigation too.

Thanks,

Steven

One example of any assemble that has gone wrong, the hood lid is correct as a sub assy, but not correct when in the main assy

I checked your crash report and sorry for the inconvenience. It is a known issue and we are working on the fix of this problem but it is still working in progress. Currently, can you have a try the below workaround:

  1. Go to YOUR DRIVE/Library/Application support/ (Note this is not your users/Library). In here you should either find an Autodesk/AdSSO or AdSSO that has a AdSSO - v2 file. Delete the entire AdSSO
  2. Very important next step is EMPTY YOUR RECYCLE BIN

More information of this issue, please refer to this article: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/An-...

Thanks,

Steven

@Chris-Steelex There are 2 crash category that I am seeing from what you have submitted.

1. Is a single sign on issue that we are trying to address especially if you have AutoCAD on the Mac also installed with Fusion? Can you confirm if you do? The workaround that @Steven_Gao should take care of this issue for good. IF you are still experiencing this issue, happy to get on a call with you to address this.

2. There I a drawings crash that appears you are receiving this crash on open of drawings? Can you please confirm? I can bring this to the attention of our drawing team engineers for investigation.

Regarding the other issues that you reported on components moving etc, would it be possible to share designs with us to see what could be happening?

The ongoing problems with signing on has been reported again to Autodesk, case ID 19116680, this problem has been going on for months now and Autodesk have still not found a solution, the workaround does not seem to work if you have Fusion 360 and AutoCad LT installed on your system.

Yes, some of the crashes were when trying to open a drawing.

I am losing hours and hours on all these problems, we use Fusion for designing our manufacturing product, it's not a hobby, Fusion is getting worse and worse, more unstable and more unstable.

@Chris-Steelex I can certainly work with you to see the issues you are facing and take it to the right team for investigation as to what is happening.

To start with, the single sign on issue =, we know is out there for a couple of months now and we are close to putting out the right fix. I can help you with the workaround if it is not working correctly.

1. When you hit this AdSSO issue, launch Activity monitor
2. Look for AdSSo-V2
3. Double clicking on it should show you a UI and a path to where the file is located
4. Go to that location and delete the AdSSO-v2
5. Also delete from the trash can

This should address the AdSSO issue for good.

The remaining issues, I will escalate the open drawing crash to the team.

Raj,

If I do this will it effect my AutoCad LT? As per the current case I have open I mention this, doing this fix stops me using Autocad LT, when I reinstall LT the problem starts again with Fusion?

O look forward to hearing from the drawings team.
