snap to grid dimensions WRONG

I use snap to grid, and instead of a 4 inch line, I get a 3.99999999 inch one.  probably not a big deal, but very annoying visually and doesn't make sense to me mentally.  Same with 5 inch.  probably a lot of other sizes too.  Is it me or the program?  Thanks!

My grid snap is working, but i rarely use that feature.

This could be a blessing.

It will force you to define dimensions when creating geometry, which is best practice, IMHO.

It's a lot more serious however when constraints don't snap to existing geometry, if that happens, you got bigger problems.

Mike.

As indicated by @psych_uk - mostly forget (I haven't used since my second CAD class back in 1987) the snap to grid - that is just quick visual sketching reference.  Use Parametric driving dimensions to absolutely, positively and robustly control your geometry sizes.

File>Export and Attach one of your *.f3d designs here for demonstration on the power of parametric dimensions.
