sketch will only dimension in degrees instead of inches

I have two parallel lines that I need to dimension .5 inches apart, but it will only allow me to do it in degrees. Yes, I can click on the drop down menu on the box where I enter the dimension at and choose .5 inches, but once I click enter it just labels it 0 degrees and doesn't move my line. Can anyone help me to figure out what I'm doing wrong?Screenshot (12).pngScreenshot (13).png

if the dimension is showing degrees, it means that those lines are not parallel.  You will probably need to add a parallel constraint.  From the image, it does not look like there is such a constraint there now.

sorry everyone, I realized after I posted this that I just needed to dimension it all the way to the left on the straight line. I would delete this post, but I am not seeing an option to do so.

ok, so when I created the line on the top it was 13.9 degrees, so I figured if I made the second line at 13.9 degrees then they would be parallel, is this not correct? But I will put a parallel constraint, I was just curious.

in theory, yes.  I don't see the angle dimensions in the image, are they actual dimensions in the sketch?  If not, other changes could slightly move either line so they are no longer at the same angle.  If you want to share the design, we can take a look.
