I've been on a vacation for a while so haven't used the software for a few weeks. Now when I try to make a sketch on a surface that is the intersection between an extrusion and a fully modeled thread I automatically get failures to calculate the sketch, even without any actual geometry.
Also each time I try to set out dimensions and try to horizontally constrain a hexagon the software crashes.
I am using the "preview UI".
Are these known bugs, and do I just not remember the issues? or is this just a result of using the new UI?

Hi,
Sorry to hear you are crashing. I cannot find any recent CER reports from you. Can you describe the crash? Is it a hang and force quit or are you actually seeing this dialog?
The new UI has nothing to do with what you describe.
Can you share the model so I can test out the crashes? The easiest way to get rid of crashes is to provide a reproducible case. We use those to "debug" the crashes we find in our CER reporting system. Your help is appreciated.
Thanks,

Yeah I don't get to the CER but I narrowed the issue down. First (when runinning "UI Preview") I get this warning:
Then I get the "Compute failed. Some sketch curves could not be converted to profile edges." if I make a sketch on the end of a 4mm x 180mm rod with modeled M4 threads, this before any other geometry is added. I found the error to be when you mouse over the thread edge with the "Horizontal/vertical" constraint. It doesn't crash the program only makes it freeze for a bit over 1.5 minuets.
Tried switching the UI preview off and then I don't get the error message when starting. Also the horizontal/vertical constraint doesn't freeze the program. But it still can't calculate the profile edges.

The warning is because Slicer does not work with the new UI preview. I'm not sure if there is a newer version of Slicer you could try that is compatible with it. But this has zero to do with the sketch issue.
I have reproduced and logged the sketch warning issue. Also the hang on sketch constraints.
One workaround that you might try is using a construction plane on the end of the bar. Sketch on that. It will update position with the bar. Be sure you use Rule #1 if the threaded bar is a component in an assembly. (make it active before adding the plane and sketch). This should eliminate the sketch warning issue while we are working on it.
Thanks for the details!
