Sketch is greyed out in drawing

I made a new sketch in my design, saved the version and refreshed the drawing and the sketch is present in the drawing but is greyed out. I had done the exact same thing a moment before in the same design and drawing and that time it worked without any "greying out"

Are you talking about showing a sketch in a 2D drawing?

Hi @murphyryanthomas,

Yes, as you've already discovered, it is possible to show (make visible) a 2D sketch within a drawing view. But a 3D sketch cannot be shown since it may not be align with the view's viewing direction. As a result, a 3D sketch appears greyed out within the browser.

So I'd start by double-checking the sketch to make sure its a 2D sketch. If you're sure its a 2D sketch, attach your file and we'll take a look.

Cheers, Andrew

I have the same issue.. If it matters, it was a 3d sketch (did not intend for it to be) and I unchecked 3d sketch, saved, and still wont display.

I use the sketch as a path around rolls for a web.. Nice to be able to show on the drawing.

Hi,

Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d on local device  > attach it to the next post.

Just unchecking the 3d Sketch on the palette does not mean the sketch is no longer 3d, that setting is just it allows you to sketch in 3d. Any curves you've create in 3d stay thee dimensional.

Here's an example, I've moved the rectangle off the sketch plane. If I select the rectangle and right click on the geometry there's an option to move to sketch plane. This will flatten a 3d curve.
