Simulation - settings (simplify, contacts and constraints) lost

Hi,

I have noticed that when I modify an external component, used in an assembly which was all set up for simulation, the settings (constraints, contacts and simplify) all show up as being sick. I then repeat the set up to put the settings back in place.

The modification to the external part was just addition of four corner rads. So, I am not sure why this happened.

This was evident when using the software 'with' UI preview turned on and also when UI preview turned off.

Any help would be appreciated.

Update: removed the link to the external part and performed the same corner rad operation. Went back into simulation and found that the settings had again changed to sick I.e. settings had to be re-configured.

Hi all,

I have now worked out what this issue is. Now that simulation has the capability to alter the geometry of parts this is the location where I should be adding small changes (as described in the help files). Using the modelling environment to change parts WILL affect the simulation settings.

I had not used the new capabilities in simulation to alter part geometry so, wasn't up with the new workflow.
