Sheet metal rule doesn't apply material properties?

Greetings,

I've created a sheet metal component, and added aluminum rule to have the thickness and all other properties.

The weight of a 600x600x2 mm was approx. 5 kg and that was a warning. I expected that if I added the aluminum rule, the material properties would be that of aluminum.

Is it possible that the sheet metal rule doesn't add material properties? If so, could you please automate that?

This current setting is totally counter-intuitive and possible cause of very big issues.

Best regards,
Dean

Hi @dean.dekovic_gideon.brothers

Thanks for posting! You are correct - sheet metal bodies do not currently automatically take the physical material for the sheet metal rule being used. I agree that this is counter intuitive and have logged a ticket (FUS-38070) for our development team to investigate what changes would need to be made to have the physical material of the sheet metal rule be automatically applied to the component.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
