Sharing a Public Link

Hey all! First time post here.

I was having an issue with a model from .SldtPrt and I requested assistance via Chat with Fusion Tech.

He worked with me for about 35-40 minutes and BAM! Got it solved! Great help with my guy Ryan B.

Since I shared a public link to him exclusively, what does my chat help do with my model I sent? Do they delete them? This part is not sensitive as far as who see's it, but there are parts that will be. How can I know that it doesn't go past him/her and I after it gets resolved?

Thanks!

I should probably reply since i am Ryan B. 😁

When you share a link with support you are using a part of the EULA that states any data transmitted will only be sent any party that is specifically for the use of support. Meaning i could send the file to the development team should an issue be present. That is really the only use for sending files to another team or individual.

Otherwise support and any party seeing customer files bound by several agreements restricting any use of customer data outside of troubleshooting or say defect logging with and for said customer.

So what do we do in support with links or files? If its just a link, nothing, since i dont save the links to Fusion once closed they are automatically removed. If you do share a file with me and I do download it i will delete it. its advisable to do the reverse to shared links once we've completed any troubleshooting.

TL:DR Support is bound by the same agreements for transmitting data as you are by using Fusion. Files we have to download are deleted when no longer needed.

Hey Ryan!

Thanks for the quick but detailed reply! That helps put us at Phoenix Fab & Design at ease. It's not something we will doing a lot, but if we know it's not a confidential part, we well be sure to share the appropriate file!

Again, thanks Ryan!

You talking about sharing a link to your collaboration design. Then change the link afterwards. Because that link is still active and accessible by anyone with the link. If you are talking about worm links then the data on the Autodesk servers is simply in a .cab format. It can only be accessed with tokens.
