I have been importing step files which contain pipe. Occasionally, some of the pipe comes in as segmented while the other pipe comes in smooth. Is there a way to get the segmented pipe to inherit the smooth surface like the pipe that is coming in correctly?

Can you at least share a screenshot, if not the STEP model?

i need the segmented pipe to be smooth and share the same inner and outer diameter as the smooth pipes.

It almost seems these objects were created from a mesh at some pint in time. Other than creating a sketch with a circle and re-extruding it, there isn't much else you can do.
Also, you may want to move these objects closer to the origin.

if i go into the software that created the file, i can remove the cut or cope and the file will export correctly. the problem is i don't always have access to the file they are created in. i know i could re-create the material in fusion, but was hoping for a quicker and easier solution. sometimes there are several.

If there's an easy button, for this, I haven't found it 😉
