segmented bend -

Hi

I would be very grateful if someone could put me out of my misery!

I am trying to make a 'master' drawing for making segmented bends.

I want to simple change d41 in sketch 3 (250mm) to 400 600 800 etc so I can quickly draw bends as required,  but although I think sketch 3 is ok,  it seems to lose the centre of the segment if I change the dimension.

It is not necessary to use Move in this design.

Do you need flat patterns for the gores (can be done - will take me a bit extra work, but not all that much).

Tip: Sweep circle along polygon path as Surface Body.  Split, Trim, Thicken.

My parametric 5 piece sheet metal elbow is modeled in inches but it may give you an idea of how to make your own.  I chose to thicken my section surfaces to the outside, to maintain square edges on the flat pattern sections but if you desire you can change this to put the thickness to the inside or symmetrically.  Also for some reason I have not determined yet, the two interior sections will create a flat pattern but give a failure warning.  You were looking for the segments only so maybe this is of no interest to you.  Model is attached.  Parameters to change are:

Make sure that you Thicken from the inside circle out so that you do not end up with interfering edges.

Also, if this is to be welded from pipe - you might have to add a bit of a gap (can't cut perfect parts) between gores.
