sculpture with 2d slice output

I'm an art teacher; sculpture and ceramic artist and I have an interest in using 3D software to extend some projects that we are all ready doing in my class.  I do not know the ins and outs of your software capabilities and so i apologize in advance if this is hard to understand.  I want to create large scale sculptures out of cardboard, paper, clay or whatever medium we choose using 3D software that can output 2D slices for laser type cutout. Only we don't have a laser cutter either.  I want to manually cut the templates from each slice on a cardboard and assemble the forms.

I've used 123D make but then it stopped being supported and i did not know how to import an obj. file so I was only able to make the items built into the software.

Can i do the same thing easily in Fusion that I was doing in 123D Make?  Or are there any other apps available through Autodesk.  I am willing to learn and get trained in the software but I do not want to invest time until I know the software can do what I want in the end.  The easier the better.

can you steer me in the right direction? Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance!!

Yes, that is possible. More details in the form of images might help 😉

Hi

Thanks for posting. Fusion 360 is the prefect platform for you as it has a good sculpture capabilities. All you need to do is to create the shape as it doesn't intersect itself and made solid body.

After that we have a free addin called "Slicer" which will slice your model into pieces and give you proper dimensions for each pieces.

Link for Slicer

Please, Accept the solution if it is helpful.
