screencast embedding impossible

Hi,

for more than 4 months now i am annoyed with the upload of screencasts.
After a contribution from @TrippyLighting  I switched to use the EMBED option.
Unfortunately it only worked randomly from the beginning and required several attempts.
Since 3 months nothing works anymore and I get error messages.

no embeddingno embedding

So I had to go again the old (stony) way, which lets however increasingly my readiness Screencasts to provide tend towards zero.

I tried with Chrome and Firefox.

I ask you to eliminate this deficiency.

Well that worked first time and I've not had any problems using the HTML editor option so don't know what to suggest. I'm using chrome on Win8.1.

I've used the HTML method for years and it hasn't failed a single time.

I usually use Safari and Google Chrome, on macOS.

Hi,

@HughesTooling  & @TrippyLighting  & ??

I tried another (Windows) user account without success.
The error message obviously comes from the forum software.
You can't remove it to try again.
If I press the "Cancel" button to restart, the whole content is gone and a reload is not possible with a new reply.
Should I stop my forum activities now?

@g-andresen - you should try also posting this here:  https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/screencast-forum/bd-p/58 , the Screencast forum.

I've had mostly good luck with using the UI for embedding screencasts in forums.  Occasionally, one will fail to load, but mostly it works.  I've been told not to try to use the manual embedding (editing HTML), because they screen that pretty carefully, trying to eliminate security risks.  In fact, at one point I was told that editing the HTML was going to be blocked completely for security reasons.

1. Thanks, Done!

2.

Currently, I can only attach screencasts in the "normal" way, but with the risk that I need up to 5 attempts and a subsequent editing would remove the screencast again.

@g-andresen  You might want to post in the community forum about the problem pasting HTML into the editor.

The Screencast issue and a html warnings are two different things

We only allow simple html in the forums for security reasons.

We  currently have a known issue with editing Screencasts. We believe to a fix for this that we are testing now.

Until then do not edit a post with a Screencast. Simply reply and note your correction

the (faulty ) html was generated by the dashboard and inserted without further changes.

looking forward to a solution

Embedding (not Inserting) functions fine...

what I've found is that if you are replying to a post where there is an attached file, the embed screencast UI disappears.  So, what I usually do is: post the link to the screencast, then reply to myself with the embedded version.  It's a pain, but it does work.

Just to check:

I am now replying to Jeff's post, wich has no attached file.

I go to My Dashboard / MY CONTRIBUTIONS and copy the embeded Link "Get embed Code", the following one, correct?

<iframe
                    width="640"
                    height="620"
                    src="https://screencast.autodesk.com/Embed/Timeline/e47215c5-0511-4bba-a2c0-291df2489cd9" frameborder="0"
                    allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen></iframe>

Now I try to insert the HTML source code in this post . The preview yields to an "invalid html" error ..

>Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body.

>The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied.

So the issue seems not to be related to the fact, that one replies to a post with an attached file. And the method of embeding also does not work for me ..

Hi Mark,

You (and others) have reported several times that the embed function works for you. Although I have shared this information with the board software on several PCs and Macs, the software was not willing (or able) to do the service. I have provided extensive information about the embed procedure.
I therefore ask you to keep hints that it works for you to yourself as they do not contribute to a positive development.
