@Anonymous, could you please answer a few more questions about this problem?

  • Does this happen with all files, or just a specific one? Does it happen with the same files on other machines?
  • Your device specs are certainly enough - are all drivers up to date? What is the connected display(s), over which port(s)? It might be easiest to include a DxDiag report, but you may wish to remove any potentially personally-identifying information from it before uploading.
  • Does the 4Ghz overclock refer to the base or turbo clock? If this is 4Ghz base, I know that is theoretically possible for the Ryzen 1700, but it's at the high end and is possibly a contributing factor. Do you experience this at base clock speeds and voltages for CPU and RAM?
  • Do you have any gaming audio software or drivers active, something that could potentially mistake Fusion 360 as a game? For example, Nahimic or Asus Sonic Suite. You might try disabling these with Fusion.

sorry for late reply. it is a base clock of 4gz and i don't have any software or sound software that is installed. when it dons run slow and don't respond my CPU is not even at 10% and my memory i only at 48%

it is ok on very basic work but when my triangle count gets to high then it starts to do it.

Hi,

1. please show a part of this behaviour in a screencast.

2. Do you use imported models or sketches?

Hi,

If you are interested in a solution, please provide the file with relevant information about the problem.
Without this we will stay with the crystal ball.

I would suggest using the ScreenCast utility to record what's going on and then attach the link to it.

@Anonymous can you tell me more about the initial creation of this file? I see the timeline begins with a base feature containing many sketches, but it is unclear how these were utilized prior to what I see opening v27. What happened to bodies 1-16?

In testing this file I also encountered freezing, even when modifying a single, continuous edge. In checking the callstack, there is a significant amount of assembly-related activity, as if the Fillet is trying to account for extra geometry not visible to the user.

In any case, this gives me enough to start a conversation with some code-facing folks to see if anything stands out, but any additional information about this file would be helpful.

Aside from this, are any other files impacted?

Side note: are you certain that your Ryzen 1700 base clock is 4Ghz out of the box? As far as I know, these chips are 3Ghz base/3.7Ghz turbo. It would be worth checking if there are any utilities in the bios (such as XMP/Extreme Memory Profiles) overclocking automatically, as overclocks have the potential to impact calculation workflows if pushed too far.

Morning. Thanks for your help. It was all originated From sketches. I just had to hide the history bar a couple of time.

The CPU is over clocked to 4.05ghz and it runs on that all the time. I have tried it with the standard clocks but no change on it not responding.
