[REQUEST] - Sheet metal flat pattern Part Number ( .. and more ..) should reflect component properties

With the recent (Oct '22 and prior) releases, the drawings work space has exposed attributes including Part Name, Part Number and most recently the Description.

This also applies to Flat Pattern drawings - but of course, by default - all Flat Patterns have:

1. A Part Number of "Flat Pattern"

2. A Part Name of "Flat Pattern"

3. A Description of ""

Which makes the attributes kind of useless in that context.  I did however find out that one can update the Properties on the Flat Pattern screen - which works providing that benefit.  However - there is no linkage between the flat pattern part name and the folded component part name - potentially causing mismatches.

I believe the Part Number of the Flat Pattern should mirror the Part Number of the component from which it is derived.  Similarly the Part Name and the Description.  (If necessary - I can cope with the Part Name being Flat Pattern).

The Material attribute is currently mirrored.

Hi @gvisca44

Thanks for sharing. I am tracking requests for this.

The reason it currently works the way it does, is that some folks have distinctly different part numbers (& descriptions) for flat versus folded components. But I certainly do a see a use case for using the same information on both flat and folded components.

As I've mentioned before, every customer request that we get, from meetings, emails, forum posts etc. gets collected and categorised in our feature request database. This information is used to prioritise the features that we build next. I've added your request to our database, and I'll continue tracking requests for this.

No problem Clint.

I did wonder whether some people had different part numbers for flat vs folded.
