Rectangular pattern - Pattern up to a reference "object" (face, edge or vertex, with option to offset.)

Hi team

when using the pattern feature in a sketch or when patterning a body or feature, it seems like there is no option to just pattern up to a face, edge or vertex.

You know when you extrude a cut or boss, you can extrude up to a selected "object" then also choose a + or -  offset from that reference "object. Well being able control the end condition of your pattern with those options is a major advantage and a feature that I use (in solidworks) far more than controlling the pattern with "extent" or "spacing".

Having to stop & do math to figure out your patterns really interrupts the flow of designing cool things. How do we vote these features into the next update? Or am I just doing things wrong?

Thanks

Dan

Hi,

Patterns of features can refer to a surface. For sketches this is not possible and makes no sense, because changes of variables (e.g. quantity) do not result in an automatic change of the resulting objects.

Please share a file and say what you want to create a pattern from.

File > export > save as f3d on local drive  > attach it to the next post
