"You Are Not Connected To the Internet"

I've been disconnected for the last 3 days and I've dug into every solution possible and nothing is working.

I've added exceptions to my firewall

Turned off my firewall

Checked proxy settings (I don't have one)
About a million other things I can't even remember

Why does this have to be so tough?

Hi @sublicut ,

Can you use the Fusion Service Utility and Reset Fusion 360? I'm wondering if some file that controls your network preferences in Fusion is having an issue.

I'd like to start here as there are no really clear errors in the logs suggesting some URL end point cannot be reached. I do see this:

20220921T114606 D .17420 Entered into Offline mode. Reason: Unknown error.

Thanks,

Thank you!

Same thing.  Still won't connect to the internet.

Interesting. Although a bit nuclear, does Repair also not fix the issue? I will keep digging into why this might be, but there does not seem to be any network calls that are failing before you enter offline which is strange. Usually there is some indication.

Any changes inbetween when it was working vs not?

Thanks,

I've tried repairing it (in the early stages of this nightmare), but it didn't work.  But that was before working through all of the proxy and firewall settings.  I'll try again and report back.

I don't think there were any updates to Windows 10 in between working or not.  But I can't really be for sure about that.  However, around the same time I seem to be having problems with my bluetooth mouse and speaker disconnecting randomly.  To me, that sounds like a typical Windows Update.

Tried "Repair" and it popped up with an error (shown in the image attached).  After ending the node.exe I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and it's still happening.

I've also included new log files.

Thanks @sublicut ,

So I found the smoking gun, but the question is 'what is causing this error'

E NEUTRON_BUG_ALERT(XML: Cannot save file - Failed to save XML file ***/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/***/OfflineCache.xml. Exception: unable to open file '***/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/***/OfflineCache.xml')

This file being unable to be opened is indeed the root cause. My two best guesses right now are - something with the permissions may have changed? This folder location does require admin level permissions; and its possible you no longer have write permissions to the folders under 'appdata'.

One thing to try -- can you manually navigate to this location and delete the file? The file is in:

C:/users/username/appdata/local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/<alphanumeric folder name>/.

If it lets you delete it, try to restart Fusion. I'm very curious why the file cannot be opened when Fusion runs.

OR

Multiple Fusion instances are running at the same time. This can be solved by Task Manager, restarting the computer etc.

Let me know your findings.

Oh, for Pete's sake... That worked.

Now, I have one question.  You mentioned there might be more than one instance of F360 open.  When I navigated to C:\Users\417pa\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360 there were actually 2 alphanumeric named folders.

I deleted the offlinecache.xml from both of them.

My question is "Should I have two folders named like that?"  And if not, which one should I delete, if any?

@sublicut glad its working now!

The alpha numeric folders correspond to each individual user who has signed into Fusion 360. So if you signed in with two different accounts, each folder corresponds to the individual account.
