"Inserting a distributed design from one project to another is not supported". -- SOMETIMES?

Hello, can I please have help understanding where I am going wrong.

  • I have in my root file directory folders with different classifications of parts
  • I have in my root file directory a folder with my current projects.
  • Most of the time, I can insert the files I make from the parts folders into the project folder document.

But SOMETIMES I get this error:

I don't know what a distributed design is. I want to understand why sometimes I make a part and then I can't use it in my assembly so I can get my work done.

Thanks!

Cross-project references are not supported for single-user/private hubs, only for team hubs.  If some of the design you are trying to insert live in private storage, this is not supported.
