I was working on this design last night and it won't save. I tried clearing the jobs in progress and updating to the newest version of Fusion. The design won't save or export. I also can't open the design now after the update.

Can anyone help?

Hi @trotmanjohns

Can you share your diagnostic log files? Are you able to open the design if you double click it (sometimes you can open it, even if the spinner makes it look like it's still loading), then try saving again?

If you can't open it, are you able to open the version before this one, like this:

Cheers,

Hi Karina,

I'm not able to open the design or previous versions. Attached are my diagnostic log files.

Thanks @trotmanjohns ,

I see this error in the logs:

20240619T195843 E 26884 Empty toUrl, upload aborted!! linkinfo: { linkName: 9ec9321b-8448-4d17-8533-138fb3ddda3f, fromURL: ***/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/***/W.login/F/_Pumpjack.4b46291c-25df-4b4b-81a3-dd46ba7faeb4.f3d, toURL: ***/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/***/W.login/F/_External1.4474f985-8683-41fc-ba42-2dcae011a987.f3d, resolvedToPath: ***/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/***/W.login/F/_External1.4474f985-8683-41fc-ba42-2dcae011a987.f3d

Which is basically saying, we can't find the reference to "External1", so we can't save it. I the design in the xref cache though, so I don't know why we wouldn't be able to find it. I'm assuming you made "External1" by using Create Component and selecting External? Did you do that recently?

Can you try locating "External1" and making it "editable"?  You might also try opening it and saving a new version. Once you've done that, try and open pumpjack.

Cheers,

Karina

I was able to reproduce this behavior by creating an "External In Place" component in a Personal License account where there's not enough editable documents to save both the External component and the assembly it was created in. I logged this as a blocker issue - FUS-160455 and have started escalating it. This is definitely a nasty issue.

I think that makes sense, I did make a component right before I started having this issue. Thank you for your help!
