Hi
I have the option checked on <Preferences> <Drawing> <Display Dimension Units> and for some reason it is not working. I have tried restarting, opening different projects, even changing units to feet and nothing happens.

When you are in your 2D drawing, select Document Settings, Dimension Units and make sure the indicated icon is highlighted. If not, do so and see if it does the trick. If it does, close and restart Fusion 360.

Please check whether 'Display Units' option is enabled in Document settings.
Also please note, the settings in the preferences will get inherited in the new drawings only if they are created from scratch. If you using template for drawing creation, set the options as per your need in the document settings of template.
