"clone" Fusion360 installation from desktop PC to laptop PC

Good morning, I'm Andrea from Italy, I use Fusion 360 (non commercial license) mainly in my desktop PC but sometimes it happens that I have to use it from my laptop. Is there a way to "clone" the entire Fusion 360 workspace form the desktop PC into the laptop PC? With workspace I mean the whole add-ins list installed, the environment preferences and the UI customization....could it be done? Maybe "brutally" copying some folder?

Thanks and regards

Andrea

Hello @AndreaA71 ,

At present we dont have any such cloning feature I guess. But when you switch from desktop to laptop you should be able to see all workspaces working fine and without any issues. For external adding you will need to install it on your laptop as well.

Thanks!

Thanks! Ok for the add-ins but isn't possible to "clone" (or export or copy, name it as you prefer) the UI customizations? Toolbar etc.?

Hello @AndreaA71 ,

The preferences actually gets saved with the application and what you set in desktop will be available in laptop as well if you log in with same login ID 🙂

What you need to do is :

  1. Set preferences as you like on desktop.
  2. Close the application at desktop and wait for about 5 min
  3. Now login on laptop with same credentials what you used on desktop
  4. The preferences changes will be available to you.

Also can you elaborate what UI customization you are changing? These should also be available I guess if you follow the above steps.

let me know if this helps.
