Philip

Projected sketch does not update when changing the projection plane

Hello All,

actually a simple problem, I still can't find solution.

I want to project a sketch onto an inclined plane. This plane is a construction plane (so not yet a solid) whose angle I can change parametrically.

If I now project the sketch along a vector onto the projection plane, this works fine. If I now change the angle of the projection plane from, say, 10 to 20 degrees, the projected sketch does not go along on that plane, which it should.

How can I be helped please?

Thanks and greetings,

Philip"

It seems to work perfectly for me.  In the Screencast I demonstrate how the projected sketch, on a parallel plane to the original body, is one to one in size.  Rotate the plane by 20 degrees, one dimension is maintained and the other is shortened because of the plane angle.  Post a Screencast and show how yours is different.

I have uploaded the file of the table.

You will recognize the sketch which is perpendicular to the plate of the table and which shall then be projected to an angular surface, where the "leg" of the table shall be later.
If i chnage the angle of the plane, which i have added as  projection plain, then the projected sketch does not change, which I would expect that it dooes...

Philip

Your "Sketch21" does not contain any projected geometry. Projected geometry usually shows up in purple, not in light blue. Also, you should activate components before adding objects to them  ( see Fusion 360 R.U.L.E #1).

That way your construction planes and sketches are contained in the appropriate components.

Take a look at my Screencast for the method I would use.  Basically you want to edit the angled plane back to zero degrees, project the table leg sketch to it without any reference link and then dimension until it is constrained.  Get out of the sketch and then add the angle back to the construction plane.  By not adding projected reference geometry, the leg will stay in position as you angle the plane. Model is attached.
