Program crash when using the arrange feature

Program crash when using the arrange feature

Hi All, looking for some help with an Error.

I am going to design a model using mdf and laser cutting. So I tested the Arrange function and the program kept shutting down and not responding. I think it's a bug. I tested the following situations, but all of them were loaded indefinitely and the program broke down.
1. I tried to place two components on a sketch or a plane. (I gave them enough size.)
2. I drew a simple cube from another project file and made it into a component and tried it.
3. I tried only one component.
I didn't respond at all on the screen below, and I had to use forced termination to close the program.
I would really appreciate it if someone helped me.캡처.PNG

Hi,

I have tried it and everything works as it should.

I've erased and reinstalled the current program and initialized all of the cache and preferences, but this hasn't been resolved.

I have the same problem as above. Have tried the arrange feature in both manufacturing and design spaces and Fusion 360 hangs every single time. Even for simple designs. There's obviously a bug as many people have reported the same issue.

Hi @mark_frasca, et. al,

The issue is logged in our internal tracking system as ID-82477 and forwarded on to development to address in an upcoming release.

We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing, and appreciate your bringing this to our attention.

Best regards,

One of our customer reported similar issue and the problem was related the environment variable "Path" not working as expected on some machine for some reason, the workaround is: edit the user environment variable "Path", and add the "FusionInstallDir/Applications/Fabrication" to this path, then Fusion nesting works correctly.

Please have a try and let us know if it works well on your end. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank you for the quick response. I'm a bit confused about which path to edit. Do you mean the Windows environment path using Regedit or the API path under Fusion 360 --> Preferences?

Maybe a quick instruction set would help 🙂

Thanks

I meant the Windows Environment path, edit the user environment variable "Path", and add the "FusionInstallDir/Applications/Fabrication" to this path

OK interesting, I uninstalled Fusion 360 then did a fresh install and the function worked fine for a while. The following day I tried it and it was gone again. Possible anti-virus software wiping paths and directory from my PC?

We need some more info to investigate the issue. Microsoft has a tool to monitor the executable running status: Process Monitor. You can download it from here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon

By using this tool, you can get all the system internal logs. Save them into a file and please send us to do more investigations.

How to use the tool:

1. Open procmon.exe tool.

2. Add 2 more filters like the image attached below.

3. Launch the Fusion to do an Arrange feature.

4. When Fusion hangs or crashes while doing arrange, go back to process monitor tool.

5. Use File -> Save to save the current log into a file.

If you have any problems, you can contact me by email.
