Problems saving basic files!

I am a new user to Fusion 360, using the free trial to try out the machining features.

I am an experienced Solidworks user, so I've imported a couple of simple step files to play around with the different toolpath options. So far, I love the different toolpathing options and functionality... but hate the most basic of file management operations! - Just clicking save, gives me an endless blue spinning circle, then a bunch of messages saying files can't upload. Does anyone else find it super buggy like this? Or is it some specific problem to my setup? Overall, this is making me want to stay away from Fusion 360, despite the cool machining features!

I have been using Fusion for a few years and never opened solidworks before.  I have not experienced anything like what your describing.  I would agree the organization of YOUR files can seem a little wonky but once you get use to fusion, you will find that the file folder works just the way you expect it to.  You can organize and create master folders for your projects, share files, etc.

Glad to hear you're not seeing any issues!

I didn't mention Solidworks to try and draw any comparisons, just to make the point that although I'm new to Fusion 360, I'm an experienced CAD user.

Some of the issues I'm seeing:

- When I hit save, I just get a spinning blue 'loading' circle forever... then when I go to close F360 it says uploads pending, so I have to force Quit now. On restarting, that upload is now stuck in the queue. I followed instructions to clear the cache, which clears the stuck pending upload in the job status bar.... until the next time I try to save something the same thing happens.

- I tried save as, and get the message 'Derive references can only be created within the same Hub and within the same Project. Please select a Design that meets these criteria'. It is in the same project - I literally only have one project.

- There is also an error in the manufacture workspace saying 'the component has out of date references. to update, use Get Latest in the design workspace. Switch to the design workspace and there is no error exclamation mark shown, and I don't know what the references are it is referring to.

I'm just trying to get an idea if these are due to my particular setup or or other people are seeing these kind of issues?

Thanks,

'Derive references can only be created within the same Hub and within the same Project. Please select a Design that meets these criteria'---  there is a link in your project browser that needs to be turned off.

the component has out of date references. to update, use Get Latest in the design workspace. --- you made changes to the model and the tooling needs to be redone.  You should see and a mark next to the strategy that needs to be updated when you go to manufacturing. see this link    Another forum post on same issue

The blue circle of death i don't know?  Is it the account?  the free trial account ??
