Problem Sinus Sweep

Dear Fusion Enthusiasts,

I'm using F360 for quite some time now and despite the occational crashes Fusion and I get along very well.

Today however I faced an issue I can't explain and hope someone of you could enlighten me what's going on.

Goal:

A rounded sine wafe cut out of a body.

sine 3.JPG

Steps:

  1. Create a Sine using a spline 1/2T (see sine.jpg)
  2. Mirror the 1/2T to get a full period
  3. Add more periods using rectangular pattern
  4. New sketch through start of sine 90°
  5. Circle d=12 with midpoint coincident with projected sine start
  6. Sweep of circle along sine path
  7. Combine/Subtract sine from a rectangular body

Result:

  1. Weird artifacts (black lines, see sine 2.jpg)
  2. When tracing the sine with a 12, 8 or 6mm ball bit with an axial stock to leave -6 the line is not followed properly (see sine4.jpg)

Could anyone please bring some light into this?

Edit:

creating a continuous sine using the plugin "Equation Driven Curve" works fine

Thanks Michael

Hi @msonst,

Would it be possible for you to share an f3z of this design. I'd be happy to take a look and see if we can help you get it sorted out?

Thanks,

John
