When I rename a component it adds (1).  Example component name is rail 4 (1):1  When I try to rename it either with left click on component name or using properties part name.  When I type rail 4 I end up with rail 4 (1):1

What is happening?

Hi @rac8006 ,

Can you attach the design that you have to rename in Fusion 360? You can export by File>Export *.f3d/*.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply.

This normally only happens if you have more than one component with the same name. In the image below I used Paste New to create a copy of a component but the same would happen if you create a new component and give it the name of an existing component. You will also see the same behaviour after removing a component.
