Problem Installing Fusion 360

Hi guys just looking for a bit of help. I have been stuck in offline mode for a few quite a few months ( it could trick it some times into connecting if i tethered my phone to my desktop). After a while i got sick of it and eventually fixed it buy following one of the suggestions here on the forum by making the folder un-hidden. This fixed the issue but then broke Fusions ability to perform any sort of update. I then performed a clean uninstall but now I'm unable to re install Fusion, could someone with more knowledge than me have a look at the log file Fusion has spat out and point me in the right direction?

Things i have tried are disabling my firewall, anti virus and running the installation as the admin. Other than that i have know idea.

Regards Dan

Hi @danielcorlett83,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

I believe your proxy server is coming into play here and prohibiting Fusion from reaching the correct servers. As you can see in the code snippet:

urllib.error.URLError: <urlopen error <urlopen error [Errno 11001] getaddrinfo failed>, url:https://dl.appstreaming.autodesk.com/production/67316f5e79bc48318aa5f7b6bb58243d/73e72ada57b7480280f7a6f4a289729f/full.json>

You are failing to reach certain URL and getting your IP address. Can you please review our network troubleshooting guide here with respect to proxies and ensure that the correct URL's are white listed. Also, if you have already done that, try resetting your router - it does seem strange that it cannot obtain your IP address.

Thanks,

Sorry to say it but I'm not running a proxy. I have a laptop running fusion on the same network with no issues.

Hi @danielcorlett83,

Hmmm, that's good to know. From the Fusion logs, Fusion believes you are under a proxy server which is most likely the issue. As you can see in the line below, denoted by the true flag:

017-09-24 17:21:38,401 - MainProcess(3984) - InstallDriver - adsk.dls.streamer.process - INFO :: Proxy enabled True

Now, we can check this in a few ways. The first would be if you have Anti-Virus software, try to run that. Sometimes malware can setup a proxy without you knowing. Also, can you please use Control Panel and go to the Internet Options. Under the connections tab, you should see an option for Advanced LAN options. Is there a proxy set up here? Let me know if you need any help and perhaps we can take this offline and troubleshoot more in-depth.

Thanks,

OK so anti virus was run, with no threats. Checked the settings you recommended and they where off. I have also been through the trouble shooting guide on this forum and tried all of those ideas.

Hi @danielcorlett83,

Do you have some time to connect this morning? If so, feel free to reach out to me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com so we can set something up. I'd love to take a first hand peek at your system and see why Fusion believes you have a proxy running.

Thanks,
