Hello and thanks  for reading !

 

How can i write a post processor that turn the head of extruder around on c axis in tool center point when the extruder is moving

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

there is nothing you can do on the toolpath inside Fusion to solve this issue.

 

Some trick can be done in the post, it's what is called a drag knife for the cutting machine.

It means we can use the consecutives moves to calculate the angle between the horizontal direction pointing to the right, and the direction of the current move.

The only issue would be in a corner of the part. For example, it will go to an endpoint at 0° then switch to 90° before depositing on the next move. So it will rotate 90° on the spot.

 

I can provide a cutting post using this functionality as a template. But i can't write a post for you.

I think to use the capabilities of the rotary Table Axis

It is shared fo educational purpose, to show the concept.
