Hi,

I wonder if in upcoming updates or Fusion360 will at least have PMI readability?

If the Fusion team can implement this sector would big a huge step up for the machining department , if they can link the mbd to the manufacturing toolpath , tollerance wise the toolpath would follow always the center of the tollerance.

This way you would increase precision and decreas error and scrapt part.

Competitors are already on it

@tiagoefpassos

For new users (and non users like me), would you mind spelling out what these acronyms stand for?

Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)

Model Based Definition (MBD)

You give information to the 3D model itself , this metadata like geometrical and dimensional tollerance are than used for other application like CAM.

Let's say you have a hole 20mm diameter with +0.1/+0.2 tollerance  , when you will generate the toolpath the program will automaticly program the part at D 20.15 mm (Center Tollerance) , instead of the nominal dimension which is 20mm and than adjust the profile by hand or in the Cnc machine.

This is the next leap forward for me , well it's already old technology in other CAD/CAM system .

Invetor already has it  https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2020/ENU/Inve...

Thank you.  MBD I've used, the other two were new to me.  Is QIF: Quality Information Framework?

I never used QIF format  , i can assume as you did aswell of course , it's something similar to pmi or mbd.
