Physical Materials and Libraries

I'm trying to understand physical materials and their libraries with an eye toward creating material/cut lists for home shop projects. In the 'Material Browser', under the 'Physical' tab, I see several libraries with lock icons to their right. I assume these are provided by the F360 team and are un-editable.

Two of these libraries, 'Legacy Material Library' and 'Fusion 360 Appearance Library' are empty. I don't understand why 'Fusion 360 Appearance Library' appears under this tab, while also appearing under the 'Appearance' tab; are these two libraries somehow different?

Further, I have an unlocked 'Assets Library' containing several subcategories. The subcategories often contain abbreviations rather than names making the materials hard to identify. Sometimes, the physical descriptions disagree with the name. For example, under 'Solid' I see 'Oak Wood'. If I click on the 'Physical' tab for this item, the name is 'Cherry', and the description is 'Black Cherry'.

Thus, I have two questions:

Where did this library come from?

   Can it be trusted?

I searched for some time, including within the F360 docs, and could find no description of the 'Assets Library', its origin or purpose.

Here's an image of the above-reported 'disagreement' between an item's name and description:
