Personal use license costs

Hi all,

Could not find any other forum to ask this about the costs for F360

The fact that it's all changing is not the question, the question is why we are forced to get a license from our local autodesk office and have to pay more for the same product.

In my case, we have to pay in euro's and at this moment this means paying 20% more than what one would have to pay in the US.  Why this is beeing done is not clear, but I hate to be charged more than others.

Anyone thinking the same about this?

It doesn`t matter if you are able to buy direct from Autodesk or a local reseller if you live in Europe or the UK for that matter Autodesk have to charge the purchaser the appropriate VAT for the area, the online price on the UK Autodesk website does say it is £263 GBP including the approximate VAT. The price will obviously vary for people outside the USA depending on the Rate of Exchange at the time of purchase. 😞 😞 😞

If you are a VAT Registered Business then the VAT can be re-claimed as normal on a purchase, if you are one of the poor overtaxed millions of "end users" in the EU that pay VAT on everything then yes, it will cost you more 😞 😞 😞

Not exactly sure but it may be that in the USA purchasers will have a State Tax to pay, unless things have changed anything sold across a State line attracts "Sales Tax" appropriate to the State the purchaser resides in.

In the EU and UK retail prices have to be shown with the appropriate VAT included, in the USA they are not which is why when shopping in the USA a shirt with a tag on it for $50 wiill be plus the Sales Tax at the checkout, last I heard California was the highest State Sales Tax at I think 11% so everyone is paying their Taxes 🙂 🙂

Old US saying, "only two things certain in life, Death and Taxes" how true 😞 😞

So, it isn`t Autodesk making a different higher price it is that nowadays if something is sold in say the EU then the EU  Commissars want their Tax, look at the current situation with the EU and Apple, EU is asking for Billions of Euros in unpaid back taxes (VAT) !!!!!

Stay Safe

Regards

Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks for explaining this, it makes sence this way.

It was a mixup on my part, and as you explained the difference is in the VAT.

Normally prices here are before  VAT. The price on our local autodesk site is with the VAT included. If in the US the VAT is charged on checkout, things are very clear.
