Performance issues with drawings

Lately it has been very slow to open any drawing. Opening a very simple drawing of a part takes 28s and a small assembly 30s so it does not seem to depend on the size of the file. My collegues experience the same problem and it started a few weeks ago, before that it was a huge difference. Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

Below is the spec.  copied, please let me know if three's anything you're missing.


Processor AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850H with Radeon Graphics 3.20 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.3 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Graphic card Nvidia RTX A2000 12 GB

@johanGGBJT Thank you for providing the hardware specs. Here are a few things to check out that can help us identify what could be happening. 

1.Is the issue only when opening the drawings? (or are you seeing the issue opening their respective designs as well)
2. Does your machine have any pending OS updates or graphics updates pending?

Yes, it seems to be only the drawing and not design. It also seems to not depend on the size of the model, only minor differences between a huge model and a small part. 
2. Does your machine have any pending OS updates or graphics updates pending?

No, everything should be up to date.

@johanGGBJT Apologies for a delayed response. I am going to tag a couple of our engineers that can follow up to see what is the performance issue specific for drawings. 

@mohammed.aliTDPXK @suryawa Can we please work with @johanGGBJT to understand what could be happening such that only drawings are seeing a performance degrade?

If it is a general issue that you see with every drawing?

Or

There are some specific designs/drawings that shows the performance lag?

Can you try clearing your cache to see if this resolves the problem?

It may also be useful if you could send us your diagnostic logs to have a look at too.

Hi Amit,

Thanks for your reply.

It seems like the problem is general and not depending on the file/design.

It is only a minor difference in time when opening a large/complex design compared to a very simple one.

And thanks for the help.

I do not have any particular files since the issue seems to be general and affecting all files.

As mentioned previously it takes a long time for opening any file (+25s) and it is only a minor difference between opening huge and small files/designs.
