Pattern on a Path - Spacing

When I try and use Pattern on a path to space features a certain distance from each other I get odd results. I tried spacing a 1/2" square 1" apart along a path, but when I check the dimension from the start of one square to the start of the next the dimension is only 3/4" instead of 1". Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

1. move start point to   0

2. try rectangular pattern instead pattern on path

There is a years old bug with pattern on path that Autodesk doesn't seem to see as an issue, along with many others, I guess there are not enough complaints about it.

If you start the pattern from zero, it might work for you.
