Pattern Components - fixing/ joints

Pattern Components - fixing/ joints

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I'm doing a sub assembly and when making a circular pattern of four components, I'm losing all joints. Nothing is fixed.

Getting really frustrated.

How can I use this function and have all components fix?

I need an answer quickly to finish my clients assembly.

Thanks

pattern components does not include the joints, just the components themselves.  You will have to re-apply the joints to the new instances.

what is the thinking behind this?

The way Fusion does patterns of components is essentially useless since it just inserts components and the components can then move freely

When you have a component that has sub components and those sub components have joints to each other and the joints are in the assembly component, if you pattern the assembly component, the joints for the sub components are patterned as well. You just need to add new joints for the new components.

Patterns of Linked Jointed Assemblies will retain Joints also.  As long you do not Break the Link of the Linked Assembly model, Patterns on the assembly will retain all their joints.  You can update the external assembly to edit or add to the Linked assembly.
