Paste New for Components is not working

See the video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q94SD0nHwYc&feature=youtu.be&ab_channel=Arcadenut

Basically what happens is it pastes in in, you see it appear on the browser then it disappears.

What I want is a complete copy of the component (Everything on the Timeline) with NO links to the original.

You will probably get the results you want if you DO NOT activate the component you are copying before you use the Copy command and then the Paste New.  Do all of this process with the top level assembly active!

Well I guess a video is worth ten thousand words, take a look at the Screencast and you will see the process works as I described it.

I appreciate the video, but in my case it does not work.

Here is another video:

https://youtu.be/KBO9NdZtFx8

As you can see in my video, I have the top as active, I right click on the component I want to copy and I select copy.  Then I did like you did where I right clicked on the workspace and said "Paste New".

You can see that it's added to the Browser for a brief second, then it disappears.

This is a bug in the software.   Since it works for you and not me that means it's related to my specific project.

Would you please attach your assembly?  Since it has no linked components it should be pretty quick.  We all use the same application so I would like the chance to see why this assembly is so special.

For the past week or so I've been having the exact same problem on and off, i.e. the timeline for the subassembly I'm trying to Paste New briefly appears and then disappears.

Seems like a bug all right.

Or not, maybe.

As a workaround, I did a Save As and deleted all components (a lot) except the subassembly, which I was then able to Paste New into a different model file.

Might joints with components in higher level asy's be the issue?
