Parts Rotate After Rigid Joint Applied

I have an issue when I apply a rigid joint between two components the part that I had sketched and extruded rotates when I click the OK button.  When I go back into the edit joint menu, it reverts to the unrotated orientation.  Am I doing something wrong?

Without the file, can only guess.

if the part was built in place, As built Rigid, or a Rigid group.

or Measure the angle you get, and subtract it from the angle it has been set to.

For normal joints, the two selected snap discs will always snap as flush, so orientation of these discs -  matters.
