Good afternoon,

I am having an issue finding the partial area of a component. I have searched the web to no avail.

I know I can find the area of the entire component using measure or viewing it in component properties. However, not able to go about finding the area of individual faces unless on a single face by face basis.

Example:

A model of a car tire, but only wishing to know the area of the external faces, disregarding any face not visible when mounted on its wheel.

(exterior area minus the tire bead and internal structure)

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

I would use the Surfacing Commands, a good choice is Offset, and create surface bodies on all the portions of the tire you want the area of.  Then use the Properties of the surface body to get the area.
