Part upload extremely slow

I am trying to upload a single part (.prt file from inventor). The upload time is extremely slow, as much as 7 minutes for a single 250 KB file. Often the upload fails wasting even more time to delete and try again. The upload time has always felt slow for the last 2 years but it seems to be getting worse. I just ran a speed test and my upload is at 10.1 Mbps.

are you talking about the actual time to upload, or the time to do the translation after the upload?  Translation time can vary a lot depending on the number of other people using the translation services.  Can you share a sample .ipt file here for us to try?

I'm not sure how to see a difference between uploading and translation. I choose my file, click upload, the status bar jumps to 50%, then sits for several minutes and either succeeds or fails. Sample attached. It is not always greater than 1 minute but when it is slow it is very slow which is usually when I'll get a failed upload.

strange.  I did not see that.  I do see that the upload stops at 50%.  That is what I think is the difference between upload and translate - that pause.  But, I only saw about a minute delay before the translation was complete.

@jeff_strater  Should I be expecting a 1 minute translation time for a 250 Kb part? It's definitely better than several minutes but 1 minute still feels extremely slow for such a basic model.

in short, yes.  The time for translation can be variable, depending on level of traffic on the translation servers in the cloud.  But, there are a lot of actions that take place - uploading the part, finding a worker to do the translation, sending the part to that service, doing the translation, creating the resulting Fusion design in your hub, etc.  If you do a bunch of parts at the same time, I would expect some efficiency from doing them at once, but yes, that is within my experience and expectations.
