Parameter Not Being Saved In "Circular Pattern"

Can anybody help?

I have created a 3d model of a chain sprocket and I have also created a number of parameters.

One of these parameters in called "NumberOfTeeth".

If I set this parameter in the "Circular Pattern" as "NumberOfTeeth" (please see the picture) the number of teeth in the 3d model correctly changes to the number of teeth that I have specified in the parameter.

However, the parameter "NumberOfTeeth" does not get saved in the "Circular Pattern" dialog box once I have pressed "Save". It only has a integer value.

Is this a "Bug" with Fusion 360?

Can you get "Circular Pattern" to save a parameter in the dialog box?

Many thanks in advance!!!

This is similar to other inconsistencies in F360, that have been raised several times - eg adding parameters to primitive box.

However, there is a work around:

  • open the parameter dialog
  • scroll to bottom
  • expand Model parameters
  • expand 1000-002 v1
  • find and expand C-Pattern1
  • enter NumberOfTeeth under countU expression
  • do the same for C-Pattern

Hope that helps

Hi @isocam ,

We just deployed an update (2.0.9009) that should fix this bug. Please let me know if you can still reproduce it on your end after the update to 2.0.9009. Thanks!

Hey, I just found this thread after I got really annoyed by ther circular pattern.

Good news:
The bug described here does not happen, so both, the angle and amount updates acording to their parameters/formula.

But:

When I re-open the c-pattern dialog box, the "angle" field only shows the resulting value, instead of the actual parameter/formula.
