Orbit shortcut/keystroke: not possible Mac

Hello, 
I've been searching for a simple answer to this question: how to efficiently orbit around a model using a mouse, on a Mac. 

I have the Logitech MX Vertical mouse yet cannot set any keyboard shortcuts or gesture controls to help orbit around the model quickly. Although my scroll wheel has a click function, I can't set it to do anything. Instead I have to manually grab that little cube in the corner every single time I want to check out a new corner of my model... quite an annoyance to the process. 

So internet, is there a simple shortcut or setting I'm missing? I keep wishing all I had to do was hold down the space bar to orbit...

Yes Günther, I have done this.

I’ve done my due diligence and tried a number of things- posting to this forum is a last resort. My frustration being none of the preferences or previous recommendations or “solutions” (ex: f2+click, middle click on scroll wheel) work on a Mac, and it’s not for lack of trying!
