Orbit BUG

In the attached file if you orbit while in sketch mode it breaks orbit. I have orbit set to free and mouse setup as Solidworks so just click middle mouse button, hold and move to rotate. Before editing the sketch I have good control of orbit, just editing the sketch seems ok but if I orbit while in sketch mode orbit is all over the place.

With an empty design I can have any axis pointing up and rotate around it, in the screencast the attached file seems fine when I edit the sketch and don't orbit but on the second edit I start to orbit and have no control of the direction the display rotates.

Looks like this is related to the bug here I reported a couple of years ago.Smiley Sad Same thing happens with this file, zoom in real close to a corner and exit the skech without orbiting\rotating the view and obit is broken.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for reporting the issue! It seems like the ticket (FUS-27975) is still open. I'll ask the development to look into this.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

@masa.minohara Might be worth seeing if they are the same bug, hate to have one fixed and not the other situation. I do see this problem while working with tilted planes quite often and having to close then reopen the design to get orbit working again is a time waster.

Thanks Mark

Hi HughesTooling,

I'm looking further back in the support forums and looks like we may be experiencing the same bug, still not fixed. I've made a post about it here:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/free-orbit-bug-closer-to-a-fix/m-p/10168742/highli...

Using the view cube is another way for Free Orbit to return to normal.

Cheers,

Eric
