Orbit and Pan with touchpad

Has anyone gotten Windows 11 touchpad to Orbit and Pan? In Windows touchpad setting, I have already made three fingers tap to be middle click. I know middle click works, because I can middle click on a link in Chrome and it opens the link into a new tab. But when I hold Shift and middle click using a touchpad, Fusion does not Orbit. And just middle click does not Pan. Under Preference, I do have Gesture base navigation clicked and Fusion 360 shortcut selected. I also tried unclicking and every other combination without success. If I use a mouse with middle button, it works great.

Hi @voodoo614, thanks for the report. I can reproduce this behavior on my end: my touchpad happens to have a physical middle mouse button and works for Pan, but when assigning 3-finger tap to middle mouse button, the canvas only seems to register Pan on "mouse up" rather than "mouse down,"  which immediately ends the Pan event in the process. I don't have an estimate for when this might be fixed, but will investigate further.

@voodoo614 just to confirm, your trackpad is configured similar to this?

Yes, the tap is assigned to middle mouse button. I however still have the arrows assigned. This is probably why don't even get pan. I will assign everything else to nothing and report back.

To be clear, I too see the issue with my configuration as shown in the screenshot, so it likely won't work for you.

Lance, thanks. Hopefully Autodesk can fix this issue. I know that Windows user have had difficulty with touchpad (and no physical middle button) with regards to orbit and pan. It has been an on going problem for years without a real solution. On Mac, the touchpad works great.
