Optimizing Hardware

Does anyone have any insight into optimizing hardware?  When generating tool paths we are seeing long wait times to complete.  Does the graphics card perform the calculations or is it done through the RAM or is it processor based? or all of the above?

A couple of my computers are running 32GB of RAM, but I am thinking a graphics card upgrade might be necessary as well?

Thanks!

Graphics card will make no difference. More cores will help but I've noticed at times only one thread seems to run, think when the linking is calculated but there are times when all cores will max out. So you will want a fast processor and more cores then memory. If open task manager while calculating you can see if memory's a problem and also get a good idea of utilisation of cores.

Something to check is have you enabled In Process Stock? Although this seems like a useful feature I find it takes far too long to calculate on complicated parts so I disable it.
