So i draw out a part.. make a model of it.. create a drawing all in fusion... export the drawing as a dxf to my desktop

when i open the same dxf again in fusion i lose all my notes, letters, numbers, title block... everything but the lines

Is there a fix for this?

May I ask what is your aim and why are you using the Drawing Workspace? .DXFs created in the Drawing Workspace have a number of shortfalls...Particulary with text for example.

hi @Warmingup1953

If you open the DXF up in the online viewer, or in AutoCAD, all of the dimensions will be there.

When you open it in Fusion, the DXF is being converted into sketch elements, this removes any notes or dimensions.

I guess the question, is what are you looking to do with the DXF?

The shop I work at will only purchase fusion for the computer I'm on.. so fusion is all that I have to work with as far as any drawings, models or cad/cam designs...

we get customers that send us dxf files and i have to redo all the dimensions to accommodate...

it works ok but the problem comes when we don't know what the customers tolerances are for the drawing they sent and I can't pull it up on fusion... I have to go to a whole other building to get on a computer with AutoCAD to look at the drawing.

sometimes i find out that the drawing is also scaled but i wouldnt know that because everything is missing from the title block as well..

Got it. Try uploading the file to viewer.autodesk.com
