Is the new text toolpath supposed to be as acurate as the old one or just more ... artsy?

Hi,

The text frame is not determined by the font but obviously variable.

This is not about the frame but the font itself.

Both text use the same font and have the nominal height of 3mm. Except that the new toolpath has larger millimeters 🙂

It appears that they've *finally* adjusted the size of the font to actually measure the size entered. In prior versions, it was the text box that was sized, not the font. This led to a mess of creating text, a feature to scale it against and then modifying until satisfied.

Now, a 3mm text will yield a measured 3mm height.

Indeed. Now we just have to scale our text down to what we used to call "3mm" text. A 2.2mm, apparently 🙂

@seth.madore

Could you please let the development team know that in CAM we use a lot the same simple font and same size to engrave part numbers and thus it would help a lot if the UI for the [new] text toolpath would remember the last used font & size?

Thanks!
