Offset plane: Random offset when trying to center it on a bore/boss?

Hey so I want to create an offset plane that is centered on a bore. Creating an offset plane then clicking on a bore/boss usually (~50% of the time?) offsets the plane to the center of the boss/bore that was selected. Sometimes it looks like it's centered but is off ~0.0002". Sometimes the placement seems to be random. In this case, it seems random (the section view I created was centered properly though):

Also in the video you'll see me turn off the visibility of the origin and then create a section view; The origin becomes visible but the little eye in the browser is greyed out indicating the origin should not be visible.

Hi

I downloaded your model, placed an axis through the hole created a plane on angle 90°.

I don't understand the problem.

Hi,

It is not clear from your Screencast and the description what you are trying to achieve.
Is it a plane on the bore axis?

However, I can see that your construction cannot be adequately analyzed because of the lack of history.

Thanks yes I can be a bit confusing when explaining things sometimes.

If I create an offset plane like so:

And then drag the arrow and select a bore like so:

Then the offset plane should be centered on the bore in one axis like so:

Is that correct?

Is that expected behavior or is expected behavior for the offset face to be moved a random distance that's different every time but usually pretty close to the center of the bore?

Seems like if it's not supposed to be on center behavior should at least be consistent.

Hi,

When I create an offset plane with reference to the hole, it definitely aligns with the hole axis.

Hi @seth.madore looks like I've been experiencing some unexpected behavior with the offset plane tool assuming @g-andresen and I are correct. Can you confirm?

EDIT: Behavior still preset after today's update (version 2.0.16488).
