Not Responding on Launch

What do I see?: Capture.PNG

When did this start?

  • I restarted my PC for the first time in a while, then this started happening, so might have done updates or something that caused this?

What did I try?

  • Updated Radeon drivers to 20.2.2 and then 20.4.2. As per a suggestion on the forum, the drivers were installed as fresh installs, not updates.
  • Windows Update is up to date
  • Deactivated Antivirus, Firewall and Pi-hole (just in case it started blocking an important domain)
  • Uninstalled Fusion
  • Restart
  • Run Clean Uninstall Script
  • Restart
  • Verified clean uninstall with manual procedure
  • Clean registry with CCleaner
  • Restart again
  • Install Fusion as Admin (also did this whole procedure without as admin)
  • launched Fusion with and without as admin

Once this procedure worked and I spent the day designing. The next day I was met with the same Not Responding again.

System

  • Ryzen 2600
  • Radeon RX570
  • 16GB RAM
  • Windows 10 (up to date)
  • Radeon drivers: 20.4.2 (also tried 20.2.2)

I tried almost everything that made sense suggested to others, but I hope I missed something silly and easy, or my logs shows something useful to someone else! Logs attached as zip, hope thats fine

Hi

Thanks for posting.

1. Please check if Fusion 360 is updated or not. (click on the upper right corner "clock icon"

2. Do you have 2 graphics card installed? If it is, please disable one from Device manager.

Hi @MoshiurRashid

It's hard to say, because it stops responding as soon as I launch.

Capture2.PNG

In one of the old logs before a clean install I did notice it downloaded updates and succeeded, but after that it still did not start up.

From the logs it seems like the heartbeat keeps on going, and CPU usage remains high, but the display just doesn't play along.

I only have the one GPU

Okay, it seems to be a Qt problem not a Fusion problem. If Fusion starts up on my second monitor (same monitor on the same port that I used to run Fusion on, but I made the other monitor my default recently) it becomes non-responsive. Cura (also using Qt) does the same curiously. Was able to move the Fusion window over to the other monitor during startup, and as long as I keep it on that screen, it works well.

There's suggestions that updating the version of Qt used might fix the issue

Hello,

I have been struggling for a few hours until I read your comment. Disconnecting my second screen solved my issue. It would be nice if this could be fixed. Thanks a lot 🙂
